If you’ve ever been in Kolkata during Durga Puja, you know the chaos is half the charm. The traffic stops, the lights shine, and the city becomes both louder and more alive. But the real show happens inside the pandals. Those temporary temples that feel anything but. Each one is a universe built from fabric, bamboo, and feverish imagination; a collaboration between art directors, electricians, sculptors, and believers who all speak the same language for one week in October.
Photographer Mihir Bajoria captures that choreography of faith and design. From the glow of Northern Park to the surreal stillness of Chakraberia and the spectacle of Suruchi Sangha in New Alipore. In Kolkata, Durga Puja isn’t about watching devotion. It’s about walking through it, one illuminated lane at a time.
