Kolkata doesn’t usually do things halfway, especially when it comes to culture. So it feels about time the city gets a full-blown, city-spanning art festival. Enter Kolkata Art Weekender, a three-day takeover hosted by Art Fervour from 21 to 23 November 2025, bringing together the city’s biggest galleries, museums, artist studios, and cultural spaces.
What This Weekend Actually Looks Like
The festival pulls together a lineup that reads like a roll call of Kolkata’s art scene: Experimenter, TRI Art & Culture, Kolkata Centre for Creativity, DAG Museums, Alipore Museum, plus independent studios, institutions, and a few pleasantly unexpected partners.
Across the city, you’ll find: Exhibitions, Art walkthroughs, Heritage walks. Also, film screenings, vinyl listening sessions, workshops, game nights. And some out of the box stuff too: zine-making on a barge and mixers.

Why This Weekend Exists at All
Art Fervour has been experimenting with “art weekenders” in different cities, but this is their first hyperlocal Kolkata edition, meant to spotlight the ecosystem that already exists. While making it accessible to a much younger audience.

Where the Art Is Happening?
Artist studios: Private studio visits with – Suhasini Kejriwal and Rathin Barman.
Workshops & River Adventures: Zine-making + paint party on the Hooghly with The Barge Company. Also, Printmaking with DAG Museums at Alipore Museum

Why This Weekend Matters
Kolkata already has the cultural DNA. The Kolkata Art Weekender just gives it a new container. A little more casual, a little more social, and designed for the version of the city that wants to engage with art without needing a degree in it.
It’s art, but also: a mixer, a walk, a river ride, a party, a film night, a workshop, a conversation.
A full weekend that’s basically saying: go outside, Kolkata! There’s art everywhere.
