Don’t let the lockdown deter you from pampering yourself. While it might be difficult for some of us to get our hands on ready to use face masks, toners and everything else we need, there are some DIY beauty treatments we can try. We reached out to Vasudha Rai, former Beauty Director of Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and Women’s Health India, author of Glow: Indian Foods, Recipes and Rituals for Beauty, Inside and Out and beauty columnist with The Hindu, who shared an easy probiotic glow ritual that only requires 3 ingredients: yogurt, amla powder and rose water. “This ritual will make your skin bright, glowy and tighter,” she says.

Ingredients:

Yogurt

Amla powder

Rose water

Step 1: Separate the yogurt and the whey by hanging the yogurt.

Step 2: Dip the cotton in whey and apply it all over your face. Leave it on for around 20 minutes.

Step 3: Add a bit of rose water and 1/2 tea spoon of amla powder to the hung yogurt. Apply this mix on your face. Once it dries off, gently rub it for about minute and rinse it off.

Step 4: Dip the cotton in whey and apply it all over your face. Rinse it off once it dries.

*The toner (whey) suits everyone, while the yogurt mask is also suitable for every skin type, those suffering from severe rosacea should avoid it. The glow ritual can be applied 1-2 times a week but the whey can be used everyday.
