Postcards From Calcutta By Devika Himatsingka

Devika Himatsingka photographs the City of Joy during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Devika Himatsingka photographs the City of Joy during the Covid-19 lockdown that has been implemented from the 25th of March in India.

As life continues in Kolkata albeit in slow-motion, people in the city remain resilient and hopeful. I’ve captured some of these fleeting moments in the hope that one can see the beauty in everything, even in these strange times.

*The photos are a collection of moments shot while running errands and distributing food in the community, maintaining social distancing and getting verbal consent from the people I photographed.
