By far, Trident, Nariman Point has the best view in all of South Bombay. From the minute you pull up into the hotel, you get a sense of space. Its newly renovated lobby is nothing short of chic with its silk-embroidered panels and a coffee shop with a much larger variety of nibbles to choose from. But what steals the show (apart from the dreamy pool) is their hospitality. It’s true, no one does it quite like The Oberoi Group! Here’s our take on our recent stay.
Check in: 10/10
We arrived during the buzz of the Ambani Wedding extravaganza – quite a few of their guests were staying at the Trident, Nariman Point. Despite that, the hotel staff were quick to manage crowds, the reception knew our room preferences, and we were offered beverages while asked to wait.
Rooms: 9/10
Sure, the rooms might be on the cozier side (450 sq. feet!), but the view makes up for it – hello, Arabian Sea and Queen’s Necklace! There were times when we felt like we were in heaven. The newly renovated rooms have a light airy feel to them, perfect for soaking in the sun or watching Zeus take over Mumbai monsoons. The view, simply magnifique.
Dining: 10/10
With a variety of restaurants to choose from – Frangi Pani (famous for their pizzas, lesser-known fact: their Indian cuisine is also fab!), to India Jones (their teppanyaki grill seating is perfect for private dinners). The newly renovated coffee shop’s menu is a hit, and their swanky new bar, Ness, serves up delicious cocktails. Most notable dining experience, though – room service. Their chefs are very friendly and ready to whip up anything you crave. Midnight snack, anyone?
Privacy: 10/10
As long as you steer clear of the rooms by the elevator or above the banquet hall, you’re golden on noise and privacy.
Experiences: 10/10
Who says business hotels can’t be fun? Kickstart your day with complimentary yoga classes by The Oberoi pool (Trident Nariman Point and The Oberoi have interconnecting pathways). The poolside? Oh, it offers the most jaw-dropping panoramic view of South Mumbai. And guess what? You can indulge in retail therapy without leaving the premises – their shopping arcade has a few stores for some serious bling. Or head over to Gucci and Rahul Misra for a little luxury. Bonus: there’s a medical store and an ATM on site!

Smooth sailing all the way!
Loyalty program: 5/10
Trident’s loyalty program has its perks – 25% off on all F&B, spa treatments and laundry -for Platinum members. The club lounge is stunning, with a view that never gets old. But let’s be real – it’s missing that certain je ne se qua that makes other loyalty programs stand out – no suite upgrades, no dedicated line for loyalty members, and if you book directly through the hotel, their sales team can be a bit of a buzz kill. It just doesn’t hit the five-star mark you’d expect.
Conclusion: Would I stay here again? Most definitely!
