With her second collection, Are You Gonna Go My Way?, Mizo designer Hannah Khiangte is carving out her own space in Indian fashion. Which is rooted in tradition but unmistakably fresh.

Her first collection, Rahbi Thar, set the stage. This one feels more personal. A little louder, a little bolder, and laced with the nostalgia of her own playlists. Growing up between Mizoram and a boarding school in Darjeeling, Hannah’s world was scored to British pop and rock. With Lenny Kravitz on repeat, the collection’s title nods to her favourite track. It’s a song that’s been part of her soundtrack for years and now, her design vocabulary.

The star of the collection is the puan; Mizoram’s traditional handwoven textile. Which has been reimagined in silhouettes that play with proportion and mood. Oversized puffs, stripes that refuse to match, jolts of deep red, and joyful clashes of colour. There’s a wink to how Mizo men dressed in the ’70s and ’80s. An era when tradition began flirting with modernity.

Every piece is handmade and handwoven by women-led weaving clusters in Mizoram. Are You Gonna Go My Way? isn’t just a title; it’s an invitation. To follow a path where memory, music, and heritage walk side by side, and where fashion speaks in a new accent entirely.
