Everything You Need to Know About Art Mumbai 2025

Mumbai’s biggest art week is back. Art Mumbai 2025 returns to the Mahalaxmi Racecourse from 13–16 November, bringing together the most relevant names in contemporary art. And the people who shape what comes next. Now in its third edition and presented by Birla Opus Paints, the fair moves between exhibition, marketplace, performance space, and cultural barometer.

Here’s everything worth knowing before you go:

82 Galleries. 1 Racecourse. No Pressure.

Big names are back: Experimenter, Nature Morte, Chemould Prescott Road, TARQ, and DAG. Alongside international players like Lisson Gallery, Ben Brown Fine Arts, and Galleria Continua.
This year features 82 exhibitors, with 18 international galleries and 9 first-time participants. It’s the fair’s most global edition yet, and it shows.

What to See First: Sculpture Park

This year’s outdoor installation, Monuments to Her Vision, celebrates women sculptors who are reshaping what scale, space, and memory can mean. Expect work from Adeela Suleiman, Madhvi Parekh, Shambhavi Singh, Sudipta Das, and Tayeba Begum Lipi. The work is bold, reflective, and not afraid to take up space.

The Talks: Actual Conversations Worth Sitting Through

The Speaker Series, is a solid reason to show up before noon. Topics range from collecting to education, art markets to place-making. A special panel on Krishen Khanna’s legacy anchors the program. A reminder of where South Asian art has come from, and where it’s going.

The Big One: Tyeb Mehta’s Centenary Show

If there’s one must-see moment, it’s Tyeb Mehta: Bearing Weight (with the Lightness of Being). A landmark retrospective curated by KNMA, Saffronart Foundation, and the Tyeb Mehta Foundation. Major works like Trussed Bull and Falling Bird will be shown alongside early drawings and lesser-seen pieces.

After Hours: Music, Theatre, and Noise in a Good Way

• Dharavi Rocks (percussion that shakes the fairground)
• A performance by Omaggio
• A recital by the SOI Music Academy
• Red, a play about Rothko, performed by Vikram Kapadia and Daniel Owen D’Souza.

Retail Therapy + Good Food = Required Viewing

The Art Mumbai 2025 brings together design, jewellery, and homeware that blur the line between art and object. It promises to be more cool studio edit than museum store. And the food’s reason enough to linger: Cecconi’s, Ode, Mezcalita, Nandan Coffee, Sucres Des Terres, and Nara Thai are all on the menu.
