Nicobar Goes Wedding-Core

Nicobar Goes Wedding-Core

Who doesn’t know Nicobar? The brand has been sitting comfortably in that Good Earth–Anita-Lal-and-daughter universe for years. The “modern India, but soft” aesthetic that quietly took over brunch tables, holiday wardrobes, and half the country’s gift lists. So honestly, it was only a matter of time before Nicobar decided to do weddings too.

Enter NicoBaarat, the brand’s first wedding collection. But don’t expect big-fat-wedding energy. This is Nicobar, so the focus is on everything around the wedding: haldi brunches, cousin reunions, cocktail chaos, last-minute gift runs, and the kind of moments that never make it to official albums but live forever in group chats.

Wild florals show up next to checks, tissue gets paired with neon, and the mukaish just quietly glows. The palette swings from jewel tones to fuchsia and chartreuse, with the usual black-and-white in the mix. The shapes stay easy: skirts, light dupattas, chanderi saris, relaxed kurtas, and blouses you can actually pair multiple ways. The craft is there: gota, pitta, sequins, but softened, with Shabana ji’s Lucknowi mukaish giving everything a gentle shimmer. The prints feel familiar without going full costume: a polka inspired by alta-painted feet, lighter zardozi and pitta, and sequins sprinkled like they landed there by accident.

Even the gifting gets an upgrade. Nicobar built a whole gifting universe around the collection: favours, trousseau pieces, home objects, and a concierge who wraps everything so nicely you’ll pretend you weren’t stressed five minutes before the event.

The campaign is the best part. It does’nt give that staged, glossy, “wedding influencer.” It’s all the behind-the-scenes moments: mirror-side rituals, cousins teasing, forgotten gifts, last-minute draping panics, and that familiar chaos that somehow feels like home. Colour-soaked, lived-in, and very “this is actually how weddings look.”

NicoBaarat isn’t trying to be bridal couture. It’s trying to be real.

Available online and across Nicobar stores nationwide.
