White Lotus Season 4 Filming Location: Château de la Messardière

The White Lotus is heading back to Europe for Season 4. According to Variety, the new season will break from the show’s established Four Seasons pattern. Filming will centre on Airelles’ Château de la Messardière in Saint-Tropez instead.

Everything You Need to Know About Château de la Messardière

Built in the 19th century, the château began as a private family home. It was a wedding gift from Gabriel Dupuy d’Angeac, a wealthy cognac merchant, to his daughter Louise and her husband, cavalry officer Henry Brisson de La Messardière. The couple lived there with their seven children, filling their days with art, long horseback rides, and the calm of the Var countryside.

After Henry’s early death, Louise transformed the estate into a hotel, opening its doors to high society. By the 1920s, the château had become a favourite among the Parisian elite, known for lavish parties that spilled through its grand salons—very much the kind of setting where a White Lotus storyline could quietly unravel.

The modern chapter began in 2019, when the property joined the Airelles Collection. After extensive renovations, it reopened in 2021 with coveted Palace status, positioning itself as one of the most opulent addresses in Saint-Tropez. Today, the château overlooks vineyards and the Mediterranean from its elevated perch, combining old-world grandeur with contemporary luxury in a way that feels cinematic without trying too hard.

Why Saint-Tropez Fits White Lotus

The decision to centre White Lotus Season 4 here marks a notable shift. Previous seasons were closely tied to Four Seasons properties: Maui, Taormina, and most recently Southeast Asia. With Château de la Messardière, the show appears to be leaning into a more storied, less overtly branded backdrop.

Filming is expected to run from late April through October. Which means Saint-Tropez is likely to become the next destination viewers Google mid-episode. Whether a Four Seasons property still appears elsewhere in the season remains unclear. But as a primary setting, the château already delivers the atmosphere White Lotus thrives on: beauty, history, privilege. And the sense that something is about to go wrong.
