‘Love Is Not A Fucking Game,’ a powerful solo release by indie music artist Kamakshi Khanna, delves into the complexities of modern romance. “The first single from my forthcoming EP, ‘Love Is Not A Fucking Game,’ captures the overwhelming essence of navigating the pains of modern dating,” says Khanna. “It originates from ‘The Green Room Sessions,’ a lockdown series featuring the raw versions of my unreleased music before they step into the real world.”
Directed by Vasudha Rungta and animated by Rahul Unadkat and Crispin Cardoz, the music video seamlessly blends live action and 3D animation. It begins with Kamakshi and her boyfriend in their living room playing video games, but soon she’s sucked into the game and becomes a player herself. Trapped in a virtual world, she struggles to navigate the tumultuous highs and lows of romance and heartbreak, while her boyfriend casually controls the game from the couch. From love bombing to gaslighting, she endures it all. As her character’s battery depletes, she realizes that love should never feel like a conquest. The video concludes with Kamakshi finding the courage to walk away from half-hearted relationships.
