Mèroh: Everyday Fine Jewellery by Vinnie Ghatiwala

There’s something about slipping on a piece of jewellery that feels like it was made just for you. That quiet shimmer on a Tuesday morning, the flash of green amethyst when it catches the light, the way a slice of malachite can turn into a small secret between you and your mirror. That’s the spirit behind Mèroh, which, fittingly, means mine in a Rajasthani dialect.

The woman behind it is Vinnie Ghatiwala. For years, she worked with her husband’s family jewellery house, surrounded by heirlooms and statement pieces. But on the side, she started making the kind of jewellery she wanted to wear herself: gold settings pared back to their essence, stones chosen for colour and energy rather than status. Friends noticed. They asked for their own. And quietly, almost accidentally, a new label began to take shape.

“For us, Mèroh occupies that sweet spot between everyday and special occasions… something that, when you catch a glimpse of yourself in a mirror, makes you think: This is mine, and I am beautiful,” says Vinnie.

What makes it different is the way the stones lead the design. Semi-precious, yes, but deliberate: turquoise, amethyst, topaz, lapis. Colours you actually reach for, cut in shapes that move with the metal rather than being forced into it. The result is jewellery that feels easy, intuitive, and perfect for every age.

Each collection has its own mood. “Hive” borrows from the architecture of honeycombs, geometric but soft, more a sensation than a motif. “Tiara” lingers on memory and legacy, how pieces slip through generations and become part of a family’s story. Mèroh jewellery isn’t designed for one age group or one kind of woman. It’s meant to be layered, mixed, worn however you feel like wearing it, today, and years from now.

In the end, Mèroh isn’t about preciousness. It’s about presence. It’s about the woman who knows that a Tuesday morning can be as extraordinary as a Saturday night.
