Tracksuits:
If you were wondering how long before the athleisure trend goes out of style, the answer is —very very long. In fact, it’s not just a trend anymore. So it’s safe to say, tracksuits should become a part of every man’s wardrobe. And every season they get fancier!
Roll Over:
Roll-necks might have made a comeback a few seasons ago, but they are bigger and more dramatic than ever. Be ready to see an array of colours, patterns, thickness and styles. Take Haider Ackerman for inspiration.
Athlete’s Fleece:
A spin-off of the athleisure trend, fleece is the new breath of fresh air blown into menswear. No denying, ’80s and ’90s nostalgia have had a whopping influence on fashion lately; so it was only a matter of time before we saw another ’90s hit coming back to life.
Stripes Parade:
Do you remember a time when stripes were not in fashion? It goes without saying that this classic pattern has become a menswear mainstay and this season was no exception. But these weren’t your usual pinstripes, they came in variegated colours, widths and sizes.
Leather Weather:
Leather has been around the block for a while for womenswear but it’s time to welcome the immemorial rock ’n’ roll splendour back to menswear. Make it retro like Prada or natty like Hermes, we have an army of designers supporting this comeback.
Moss Green:
We know most men being an easy mark for neutrals and deep hues, that’s why for fall’17 deep, rich, mossy green was the most popular colour on runways. From Missoni to Issey Miyake, everyone seemed to have a their own variants of Moss green.
Burst of Orange:
Fall’17 saw some pretty amazing flashes of orange for both inner-wear and outerwear. So for all the up-to-the-minute men out there, it’s time to ditch those black, navy, grey staples and give a doze of sunrise orange to your wardrobe.
Quilt Relief:
Comfort over everything else! — the secret slogan amongst designers this season. You could do padded jackets like MSGM or snug up top-to-toe in quilted suits like Craig Green and Topman.
