#Vocalforlocal: Support Indian sustainable and upcycle designers.

The last few months have forced us to reflect on many facets of our life — work, priorities, relationships, mental health and consumption. We’ve all been looking for a healthier and sustainable way forward. From eating right, to exercising, meditation, and shopping. When it comes to the latter, we have a chance to support small local fashion businesses that are ethical and sustainable — all you have to do is visit the REFASH website and shop away.

Founded in 2018 by Akanksha Kaila Akashi, REFASH is a one-stop-shop for anyone looking for some sustainable and upcycled retail therapy. They’ve collaborated with several brands and designers for whom sustainability is the core of their brand ethos. “I realised the need for a platform that brings all the upcycling designers under one umbrella and give upcycling the momentum of a movement,” says Akashi. “In a world of multiples, upcycled products are one-of-a kind pieces made using pre-loved materials that embrace conscious consumption.”

In line with its vision, REFASH is hosting a digital showcase from the 14th-16th of August on their website. This weekend event features 10 homegrown upcycling brands and designers: Sanah Sharma, Doodlage, Noupelle, Chicory Chai, Malvika Vaswani, Insom, The Initiative, Kassa, Swiatlo and Punah.
