There’s a new kind of luxury on Wilshire Boulevard. It’s quieter, handcrafted, and unmistakably Indian. Anita Dongre has opened her first West Coast flagship in Beverly Hills, expanding her world from Mumbai to New York to Dubai, and now, Los Angeles.

The 3,000-square-foot space captures what Dongre has always done best: restraint, craft, and a sense of calm that hums. Inside, hand-painted Pichhwai walls, embroidered cushions, and bespoke furnishings have all been created by artisans across India. The store is immersive, intimate, and distinctly Anita Dongre .
The launch brought together the city’s South Asian creative circle, with Mindy Kaling and Poorna Jagannathan co-hosting the evening. Jay Shetty, Deepica Mutyala, Richa Moorjani, Payal Kadakia, and others filled the space .

At the heart of the store sits a striking sculpture of an elephant matriarch and calf from The Great Elephant Migration. It’s been crafted by Indian artisans using lantana weeds. And is a gentle reminder of Dongre’s long-standing ethos: that sustainability, storytelling, and style aren’t separate pursuits, but threads of the same fabric.

“Every creation we make is touched by the hands of skilled women artisans whose stories inspire our work,” Dongre said at the opening. “Bringing their artistry to Beverly Hills is not only about fashion. It’s about giving India’s craftspeople the global platform they deserve.”

With Anita Dongre in Beverly Hills, the designer doesn’t just add another pin on the map. She expands what Indian luxury can look and feel like on the world stage.
